International Students of the Week Listed by Department
Oklahoma State University has international students on campus from nearly 120 different countries. In the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, most of the international students are enrolled in graduate programs (Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy). Their backgrounds are tremendously diverse. One wonders how so many different people all selected Oklahoma State University as their University of choice. The challenge of providing them with an educational experience of excellence is one that Oklahoma State University accepts with pride.
Listed below are the individuals who have been featured as the "DASNR International Student of the Week". Clicking on the name takes you to a page featuring information about that student. Feel free to browse through the histories of these students and experience the tremendous diversity that their backgrounds reveal. Join DASNR in celebrating their presence on our campus.
The DASNR international student of the week is selected from nominations received from the Department Heads within the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. We rotate our selection among academic departments to be able to feature a variety of students and departments. Although we regard all of our students as academically gifted, a high gpa is not a requisite for this award. If you would like to nominate an international student to be featured on this page, please forward your nomination through that student's Department Head.

Comments From DASNR Personnel about the International Student of the Week:
Dear Dr. Henneberry:
Thank you so much for sending the "Student of Week" feature to all of us. I really enjoy reading it and learning about the students and their countries.
It makes their world more relevant for all of us. I have not had the opportunity to travel overseas, so I love to read about it.
My fondest memories of graduate school, in Maryland, were the many, many different students I met from all over the globe. It opens your mind. To quote Mark Twain from "The Innocents Abroad": "Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things can not be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." Thanks again, Sue Gray, Extension Horticulturist
I am really enjoying receiving the Student of the Week highlight! ~Recia Garcia

I really enjoy seeing and reading about the DASNR International Student of the Week. It is very interesting and also a way to learn about the various countries and how they live. Culture is an unbelievable way of life that is such a part of each of us that is really takes good education and working hard to try and understand other cultures but it is so important.Rosalyn R Weston 4-H Publications
David, Just wanted you to know that some of the staff out in the field/County offices like me read your International Student of the week—and I enjoy it. Especially knowing about someone like Cosmas, as I am in the Environmental Science Department about half way through attaining an MS in Environmental Science (Education Option). Hohn Haase, Extension Educator, Horticulture/4-H Youth Development
