From the Department of Agricultural Economics... This week’s international student of the week is Tee-Jay Alingus San Diego. He is a second year Master student in Environmental Science/Agricultural Economics. Tee-Jay was born in The Philippines; he speaks Hiligaynon, Filipino, and English
Tee-Jay is the GPSGA representative for the Society of Environmental Science; he is also member of the Toastmaster International Pacesetters Club OSU, and the GIS Club. He is a Fulbright scholar. Tee-Jay enjoys exercising at the Colvin Center during his free time. Tee-Jay came to the USA to pursue his graduate education after he was awarded a Fulbright grant. He chose OSU because the program fits well with his objectives and career goals. Tee-Jay future’s plans are to go back to The Philippines and work for the government, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources in an office that administers the costal aquatic resources of the Region where Tee-Jay was born. He is planning to apply all the principles he learned during classes at OSU. Tee-Jay comes from a family of four children, he is the oldest. He has two sisters and one brother. Tee-Jay lost his father when he was seven years old. Tee-Jay is a devout Catholic who likes to attend daily mass at St. John’s Parish. Advisor: Dr. Arthur Stoecker Advice to international students: “As international students, we need to have a support group or trusted friends who are able to give us encouragements when we are down. Also, a well prepared and strictly followed weekly schedule is a good strategy to ensure a well-balanced academic life.”
